One to one photo course in Devon
I am pleased to offer you the chance to come out on Dartmoor on an afternoon or evening photo workshop on a date of your choice. The aim is to help you progress in your landscape photography and have some fun taking photos.
Topics looked at
- Composition : How to take photos with visual appeal
- Exposure & Light : Choosing the best exposure and working with the light
- Focus : How to achieve front to back sharpness using Depth of Field techniques
- Filters : How to use Neutral Density (ND) grad filters, and why they are useful
Weather
We can go out in most types of weather and often the best landscape photographs are taken in what others call bad weather! There will still be plenty to learn even if the weather on the day isn't great, which will then arm you with new knowledge to use the next time you witness that amazing sunset.
Typical timetable
Starting 4 hours before sunset, we will meet up in Exeter to travel to our chosen location, or we can meet on location. We will then spend 4 hours immersed in landscape photography. I will be able to give advice and help and we will normally spend time in two locations taking photographs. Some walking over rough ground is often required so walking boots or sturdy trainers are advisable. Waterproof clothing including jacket and a fleece is recommended - even if it is a warm day, standing around at dusk it can get a bit chilly.

Just a quick e-mail to say hello and thank you for a very enjoyable few hours up on Haytor. One of the major things we learned was not to leave early! Thanks again for the workshop - we hope to do it again in the future G. Maunder & R. O'Dell, Bantham
