Thatched boathouse, Bantham, South Hams, Devon, England, UK
DEF1065

An early start is essential in order to see a sunrise during the summer months. So at 4:30am, one June morning, I arrived at Bantham as a fiery red colour spread momentarily across the sky. I set up my tripod overlooking the quaint thatched boathouse, having planned to visit around the time daybreak coincided with high tide. Shuffling beside the tripod to try in vain to warm up on the chilly morning, I waited for over a hour for the sun to find a gap in the grey clouds. Finally, the sun's rays softy illuminated the scene and I got the shot, using a long exposure which conveyed the movement of the receding tide.
